How likely is it that the Jacksonville Jaguars pick an offensive lineman with their fifth overall selection?

With Mason Graham off the board, Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic has the Jaguars passing on running back Ashton Jeanty to bolster their offensive line by taking LSU's Will Campbell.

"Campbell’s arms are a bit short — if he wasn’t so good with his hands and feet, that might be an issue," wrote Baumgardner. "But Campbell, one of the hardest workers in this draft class, is a terrific athlete. Like when the Chargers drafted Rashawn Slater, nobody should overthink this."

Campbell played tackle during his time at LSU, but could be moved to guard at the NFL level, given his length. At either position, he has the potential to be an instant impact starter for the Jaguars.

This certainly isn't the most flashy pick that could be made, but for a team that is reshaping its roster, you can't go wrong with bolstering the trenches.

While the Jaguars did add fairly heavily to this unit in free agency by making four additions, we also don't exactly know what Jacksonville has with their projected starting offensive line unit either. How good can this unit be? And when there are question marks, regardless of the position, a team should give themselves options.

Those free agent signings will help raise the floor, but adding Campbell to the mix addresses the ceiling of this unit. When it comes to the overall success of the offense, consistently moving the ball starts with the offensive line helping to provide a strong run game to lean on and time in the pocket for Trevor Lawrence.

"I think from that standpoint, we're always looking to add to the roster, whether it's through the draft, free agency, things like that," Liam Coen said recently of the offensive line. "But I do believe we brought in some players to come help compete in that room.
