Funny, they didn’t think they needed to do this when a republican held the governors seat. This party is the worst.

MADISON, Wis. — Facing the prospect of sharing political power for the first time in almost a decade, Republicans in Wisconsin are racing to set new limits on the authority of Democrats who will soon take over the offices of governor and attorney general.

It was the latest effort by leaders of a state to try to shift authority in the face of an election loss, and it set off furious protests from Wisconsin Democrats, who said they would not stand for the moves and called on residents to raise loud objections.

Republicans called lawmmakers to the state capital this week to weigh a sweeping plan that could diminish the power of Tony Evers, the Democrat who beat Gov. Scott Walker last month, by restricting his ability to shift how public benefits programs are run and limiting his authority to set rules for carrying out state laws.

I am so sick of these cheats. They care nothing about the "will of the people."

These are not patriots, these are facists.

We are officially three nations living within one set of borders.

    1. United Republican States
    2. United Democrat States
    3. True Americans disgusted by party-line-or-die in the above two camps

It may take decades, but this country is trending toward Sunni vs. Shia type division here.

Maybe we'll be lucky and the effects of climate change will kill us before we get to the Sunni vs Shia stage.....

Main combatants would be Evangelicals/Trumpers vs Catholics/Protestants/Muslims/Jews etc. Pretty sure there would be mercenary snipers mixed in there somewhere.

let me know when the Democrats pull this crap. I would bet that the VAST majority of Democrats would be opposed to them doing this as well.

There are no Democrat States. There are Democrat cities and some states have enough of them to turn it blue and some don’t.

You’re fooling yourself if you don’t think the fully left old school politicians aren’t dirty and party line over country. I don’t think they’re as disgusting as the fully right nutbags, but they are just as democrat-over-country as the fully right are republican-over-country.

I wasn’t really meaning to point out actual states, but rather the divisions within our nation. But yes, you are right. Should maybe be:

    1. The United Rural Areas and Texas and Florida Republicans of America; and
    2. The United Cities and Coastal Democrats of America

The reddest state in the 2016 presidential election, West Virginia, still saw a quarter of its voters cast a ballot for HRC even though Trump's coal promises might have been the most specific needle-mover in the election. The notion of a "sectarian divide" serves political ends: movement conservatism has employed it for decades, which is why many are willing to justify gerrymandering, obstruction, and voter suppression. One result is a lot of Democrats frustrated enough to skip bipartisanship if a certain population and demographic edge is reached. The GOP is already fighting against this assumption. I'm not trying to extend sympathy to positions I strongly oppose, but I do really hope we can elect some leaders from both parties (or more parties, sigh) with strategies better than sabotage.

We can all see that Republicans support blatant voter suppression, extreme gerrymandering and they continually pull this lame-duck session power grab nonsense. What are you saying the Dems do that constitutes party line over country?
