For a couple of months in the run-up to the NBA trade deadline, sources around the league talked about all the reasons there would not be a lot of trades to open 2020, from a lack of cap space to take on bad contracts to a lack of sellers. In a West where the margins between the top teams — especially the two that call Staples Center home — are so thin, the Clippers' moves around the draft made this team better.
