The Cardinals
I guess the best way to put it is...
If you've proved you're a successful franchise, by all means be a trail-blazer and set the negotiating standard for the rest of the league.
But if - over time - you've generally sucked, it's flat out dumb to "stand on principle" when nearly every other team in the league has an injury waiver and, therefore, their top rooks in camp.
I can picture the GM's of all the other NFL teams lining up on the phone (laughing up their sleeves) to tell Graves and Bidwill "Way to go, dude. Thanks for taking a stand!"
From both a football and a PR standpoint - the priority of having both top rooks in camp should have been way higher than winning any phyrric negotiating victories.
And speaking of PR - how about the exquisite timing of pissing off ASU two days before Fan Day at mini-camp! Why did they have to create more negative non-football controversy now of all times?
