The Washington Commanders kick off their rookie minicamp this weekend in Ashburn and announced the signings of 10 undrafted free agents on Thursday.

Here are the 10 UDFAs Washington signed:

  • N.C. State G Tim McKay
  • UCF DT Ricky Barber
  • Oklahoma State S Trey Rucker
  • Jackson State S Robert McDaniel
  • Louisiana CB Car'lin Vigers
  • Florida State CB Fentrell Cypress
  • Boston College LB Cam Arnold
  • Louisville WR Ja'Corey Brooks
  • UCF WR Jacoby Jones
  • UCLA LB Ale Kaho

Tim McKay is the name that stands out—the former N.C. State starter was considered a solid mid-round selection until an injury ruined his final season. Washington thought highly of McKay, giving him one of the largest UDFA signing bonuses.

Ja'Corey Brooks is another name to watch. A former five-star recruit who began his career at Alabama, Brooks spent his final collegiate season at Louisville. The 6-foot-2 Brooks had his best season with the Cardinals in 2024 and could be an undrafted steal. His size stands out.

Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network gave us another name to watch: Former Louisiana cornerback Car'lin Vigers.

Lots of talent that didn’t hear their name called on draft weekend. A few UDFAs I expect to push for the 53 this summer:

• LB Shaun Dolac - Rams
• DB Jabbar Muhammad - Jags
• WR Xavier Restrepo - Titans
• TE Jake Briningstool - Chiefs
• ED Jared Ivey - Seahawks
• OT Hollin…

Vigers checks in at just under 6-foot-1 and weighs around 190 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in just over 4.5 seconds, which may have disappointed some. But it shouldn't. Vigers is a physical presence on the outside and will challenge receivers at the line of scrimmage. He thrives in press coverage, which likely caught the attention of Washington coach Dan Quinn and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. The Commanders met with Vigers before the NFL draft, indicating interest.

Vigers told Jalen Cavalier of KLFY 10 why he signed with Washington.

“I felt like, that was the best fit for me," Vigers said. 'Scheme-wise, you know, just me already being out there, going out there on a visit. It just already felt like it was home away from home,” he explained. “Plus, they are big on brotherhood, and that’s something I’m big on, you know, it’s just not about football. It’s about actually creating a brotherhood and fighting for the men that you play alongside on and off the field.”

As with any late-round prospect or undrafted free agent, Vigers isn't perfect. However, his traits make him an exciting prospect and a player to watch throughout the summer.
