Bruins fans will soon know when Boston will pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

The league announced the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery will be held on May 5. The lottery will determine the draft order for the first 16 picks for the teams that didn’t make the playoffs this season — including the Bruins.

A time for the lottery has yet to be announced.

Boston finished the 2024-25 season with a 33-39-10 record. It will mark the highest draft pick the organization has made since it drafted Tyler Seguin with the No. 2 overall pick in 2010.

The Bruins have an 8.5% of getting the No.1 pick, according to Tankathon. They have an 8.6% chance to pick at No. 2. The San Jose Sharks, who finished 20-50-12, have the best odds at 25.5% to win the lottery, followed by the Chicago Blackhawks at 13.5%.

The Sharks won the lottery last year and selected Macklin Celebrini with the No. 1 pick. Chicago won the year prior and drafted Connor Bedard.

It will mark an important draft for the Bruins regardless of where they pick after a disappointing season left them out of the playoffs for the first time in nine years.
