At what point do you want to see Beck start, if at all this season?
My honest answer after week 1 was I hope we don’t see him play at all this year.
But considering we just saw the worst game by a Cardinals QB in 40 years (to Shawn Halloran’s credit he was an NFL replacement player for the 1987 Cardinals and only played in 3 games) I’m open to change.
Personally, if things continue to be rough offensively for the next few games I think debuting him for the next home game in week 5 against Detroit is as good a time as ever.
To me it really is a win/win. JB is an old career backup, he is not the future. Let’s find out if Beck has a chance of being the future. Worst case he’s terrible and we solidify a high pick to draft the next QB. Best case we end up liking him and this year isn’t a wasted year for his development.
I stand by the idea that a young player can only get better by actually playing games.
Unpopular opinion- Let him play against elite defenses in our division and take his lumps so he can actually learn.
