Justified is your show, Steve. Modern day Western, where the lead literally wears a White Hat. First four seasons are gold and the role Timothy Olyphant was born to play.

Edit: ah… it’s in your list.

For comedy? Try The Good Place. Devilishly fun but with one of the best messages of any show I can remember. Incredible Ted Danson performance.

Also, new show: Nobody Wants This.
We watched the first episode today of Nobody Wants This. Loved the characters and obviously, loved the dialogue.

Good list of shows. We have similar tastes. Sanity check since you didn't list it but listed Buffy, you watched Angel, right? By the end I think it was a slightly better show but not as much of a game changer.

From your list I have a few other recommendations for you. I forget if you mentioned Battlestar Galactica (2003) elsewhere, but it would be on the list. Other slightly older shows, Mr. Robot, Orphan Black, Pushing Daisies, Rome, and The Last Kingdom. And for new shows that are still on, Foundation, For All Mankind, Silo (S2 starts in a month!), and Shogun.

If you like animated there's a few anime that I'd highly recommend too. But I'll leave that for now since it's a lot more hit and miss on people liking it than live action.
I thought I'd responded to this but since I don't see my post, I guess I deleted it for some reason. Anyway, we don't have Apple TV+ so some of those shows are out of reach for us. And while I loved the first 10 minutes of Mr Robot, the show it became just didn't work for us. No real complaints about it, it seemed very well done it just wasn't what we were looking for.

We watched the first season of Pushing Daisies and it was okay but it never really grabbed us. We liked BG a lot until that season or two stretch where they were basically just getting drunk and fighting amongst themselves (oversimplification but I'm sure you know the stretch I'm talking about). Despite the weaknesses, we stayed with it and all told, we loved the first two plus seasons, disappointed by much of the next 2 seasons but very much loved the final episodes leading to the conclusion.

We loved Angel but didn't care for how they handled Cordelia's story and a few others plus we tired of the fact that the supposed hero kept turning bad so often. Anyway, we loved the final season though with Spike joining the crew. So I'd say, as with BG, we loved about 60% of the show.

Sopranos and Breaking Bad. No idea why, I’ve pretty much watched everything else on HBO. But no interest in either show.
