The Grizzlies shook up the NBA world on Father's Day.

Memphis agreed to trade Desmond Bane to the Magic for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four first-round draft picks and a pick swap. The trade brings back a massive haul for Bane.

General manager Zach Kleiman now has plenty of assets to use if he wants to continue dealing ahead of the NBA draft on June 25 and into the offseason, but he also brought back two players who are signed through 2026-27 (Caldwell-Pope has a player option, while Anthony has a team option).

Here's what to know about the two newest members of the Grizzlies.

What to know about Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Caldwell-Pope, 32, was drafted by the Pistons in 2013 and spent the first four seasons of his career with Detroit. He then played four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, one with the Washington Wizards, two with the Denver Nuggets and one with the Magic.

The 6-foot-5, 204-pound Caldwell-Pope instantly becomes the Grizzlies' most experienced playoff player by far. Caldwell-Pope was a starter on the Lakers team that won the NBA title in the Orlando bubble and a starter on the Denver team that won the title in 2023.

He's known as a strong defender and is a career 36.7 percent 3-point shooter. He shot above 40% from beyond the arc during both of his seasons in Denver. He averaged 8.7 points per game last season for the Magic.

Caldwell-Pope has never dealt with major injuries as a pro and has played 67 or more games during every one of his NBA seasons.

Caldwell-Pope was named the SEC Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season after averaging 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for Georgia. He signed a 3-year, $66 million deal with the Magic ahead of the 2024-25 season.

What to know about Cole Anthony

Anthony, 25, the son of former UNLV national champion Greg Anthony, was drafted by the Magic out of North Carolina in 2020. He's spent his entire career with Orlando.

The 6-2, 185-pound Anthony is known as a scoring point guard. He's averaged 12.5 points per game for his career, but he saw his minutes drop throughout his time with the Magic and played only 18.4 minutes per game in 2024-25.

Anthony is entering the second season of a three-year, $39.1 million deal.
