UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad is set to defend his title against Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 on Saturday at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Della Maddalena, a surprising contender for the title against Muhammad, emerged following Shavkat Rakhmonov's announcement of his injury. Rakhmonov's injury, which prevents him from competing by May, has opened the door for Della Maddalena, who is now on a 17-fight undefeated streak, having not lost since May 2016.
Muhammad has a 24-3 record and claimed the title after winning a unanimous decision against Leon Edwards at UFC 304.
