What one player would you trade?

I am going to say PJ Tucker. (+Tolliver and maybe draftpicks for another big man). The two combine for around 8M$ so a lot of trades can work financially with those two contracts. Getting a more solid backup for Markieff would be pretty good.

Decent contract to move giving some options what can come back in return.

Marcus Morris looks decent as a starter and it looks like Alex Len will eventually take the starter position this season.
TJ Warren and Gerald Green also play the sf position.

Nobody. Absolutely not one player. This teams issue right now is chemistry. Trades and talk of trades are the anti-chemistry pill. How do they dribble less, pass more and run better? How do they play as a team? Figure that out and this team is really, really good with a very high upside. So much offensive talent. And just SMH at people who want to trade Tucker.

Since you said "one player" who the Suns should trade, I think it is Anthony Tolliver. However, as you suggest, he is going to have to be bundled with something better to get a desired player in return. The Suns have a lot of players that can be traded at the 1-3 positions. However, the Suns need a trade partner with an attractive player.

Realistically? Tucker. Frees up time for Green and, eventually, Warren. Green is streaky as hell but I hope they bring him back somehow. Guys like that can win games for you. And if he's cold just take him out.

Yep. If I had to list them in order of priority for trade it would be:

1. Tucker
2. Tolliver
3. Ennis
4. Plumlee (if you get a good big in return)

Of course, any of these players would have to be packaged with other players and/or picks to get anything of quality in reture.

I think it's too early to say Tucker. He's been our best defender past couple years. Yesterday was his first game. If he continues to look like that, then sure but we have to wait and give him a chance imo.

I'd say Plumlee because he may still have some trade value left.

Yes he looks out of shape but no on his talent level being the lowest. I wonder if he thought he was going to play more down low and bulked up a little for it because right now, he is just not the Tucker of old.

With that in mind, Gerald Green or one of our point guards is by far the best trade chip we have. At least right now. Do I want to trade them? Not at this point, but trading someone isn't the same as just getting rid of them regardless of return, and that's what most people are saying about Tolliver. Trades don't work like that, you HAVE to think about what you are going to get in return, because the front office is thinking that for damn sure.

Not at this point, but trading someone isn't the same as just getting rid of them regardless of return, and that's what most people are saying about Tolliver. Trades don't work like that, you HAVE to think about what you are going to get in return, because the front office is thinking that for damn sure.

I would guess that Archie and Ennis have some value. Even though they have not played much, teams scout other teams and know the potential on other rosters. Plumlee probably has value too. He is on a rookie deal and he is an athletic big.

I figured Tucker and Draft Picks (maybe plus Ennis) could get Suns upgrade at PF but with the way Markieff is playing I'd look for minor upgrade at 4/5 on bench still.

Plumlee, Morris, Morris, Dragic, and Bledsoe is solid. Starting guards need to improve FG PCT but with the Suns having 4 weapons in starting line-up their numbers could drop.

Len, ??, Tucker, Green, and Thomas is solid if Suns could add F/C or PF upgrade for 2nd Team. Tucker, Green, and Thomas started a lot of games last year and Len is nearing starting potential.

Tolliver, Warren, and Goodwin for bottom 3 rotation players are solid though could be inconsistent. Tolliver shoots 3PTers at good/decent PCT and the two youngsters have potential. While Zoran could start to look like a player down the road with defensive intensity after busy summer.

So if the success continues, I'd look to move Ennis (with a Team needing PG), Draft Picks, and Randolph (expiring) to make salaries work for $5-6 Million dollar player at PF. Nothing spectacular but Tolliver would have spacing, strictly role as deep reserve and new 2nd Team backup could start just in case Markieff goes down and give the Team 10 starting like potential players and in limited minutes have role off bench.

Plumlee definitely has value. Even awful bigs carry some value and Plumlee is not awful (despite the protestations of a poster or two), he just is not a starting quality guy. But Len is not there yet either... so until we make a move or Len makes a leap it is what it is.

Yes, thank you! Recognizing the possible advantages of trading someone doesn't mean that you don't like the player -- it means that you might be able to get something back that would be a better fit for your roster.

Welcome to the club. One thing that has been noted is that he plays better with Bledsoe running the game because Bled looks for him more than the other PGs. (I don't think that is whole story because even with Eric he isn't up to his earlier self.) Hornacek has to aware of it and I keep expecting him to capitalize on it - or push Goran & IT to involve him more. Something! Miles has to be a part of whatever plan there is because he has work harder to make/find openings.

I've been saying since they signed Thomas that Green was almost certainly on his way out and is our most obvious trade chip.

I can't quite peg if he has been hurting us or helping us these first 5 games. Yes, his good offensive plays stand out and are more ascetically pleasing than anyone else, but we are supposed to be a ball movement team and he absolutely murders the ball movement and he is a doormat defensively. He needs to be white hot to have a positive effect. He was there in the Laker game but not in any others.
