What Monti and Michael have done to this fanbase is unforgivable

The season kicks off in six days and this place is a morgue. We’re debating whether this team can win four games.

Our biggest defensive offseason acquisition is either Roy Lopez or Andrew Wingard.

Goodness gracious burn the thing down.

4 years into the "rebuild". I'd take a couple years of no football to take an expansion team - the Bidwills are a generational curse.
I mean that’s not going to happen but if this team looks as inept as they did against Tennessee or as hapless as they looked against Houston coming out the gate that might be it for me.

its true

Normally, I am as optimistic as they come. Yet, my expectations are so low right now.

You know what I would have bought into this offseason? New coach, new GM (preferably from a place that has shown repeated FO acumen) and have them lay out the vision and have everyone on the same timeline / vision.

instead we get Mike taking half steps (again) with what looks like a promising young offensive HC (yah!) but then saddling him with a holdover DC that never produced a defense NOT in the bottom third of the league --

all working for a holdover GM who has botched every key/high leverage GM decision he has made.

Monti should've been gone with Gannon; he's clearly in way over his head. However, Mikey is a meddling owner who's too cheap to do things right, and too dumb to realize he's the problem.

Only thing I was really looking forward to was seeing how much of an impact Love and a young offensive HC could have with what I hoped was going to be a better O-line. Unfortunately Love hasn’t even gotten back on the field a month after his totally unnecessary injury and the rookie guard who might have buoyed the right side of the line is out for the year.

I think an o-line can withstand 1 gaping hole if thus rest of the group is solid to great. But two gaping holes next to each other is going to be tough for any offense to overcome, much less one led by a journeyman backup qb.

You say that, but I believe all of us old timers are stuck with these losers for life.

and the kicker for me: this team has the worst luck

Cards top four picks in the draft this year:

two are already lost for the year before week 1. The electric RB has a dreaded high ankle sprain. The 3rd rd QB who looked promising in one half of preseason football -- got hurt and he missed all those reps.

Personally, this org would buy a TON of credibility with me if theyd just come the eff out and say to the fanbase, "Well, that sucked, we blew it, and were going to do our best to rectify the situation."

But no. All we get is sunshine enemas, followed by a ramrod up the ole jacksie.

Keeping complete and utter failures like Monti, Rallis and the O-line coach was an ultimate middle finger to the fans.

I’m much less vengeful at Monti, whom I consider merely incompetent. I mean Really really incompetent and bumbling and not good at his job whatsoever, that’s true, but at least not malicious in intent.

Michael on the other hand. I view as having very poor character, as being completely indifferent to winning, and as basically viewing us both with contempt, and as sheep to be sheared.

He’s pretty much a monster, and a worst case scenario owner.

So we’re basically ******. :)

The biggest problem with the organization was believing they could fix KM. He was uncoachable and a $40M boat anchor on the team. Firing everyone and starting over every 3 or 4 years is not a winning formula. It takes time to develop a winning organization. It is not only players and coaches but the front office and scouting. When JG was fired, most of the good assistant coaches quickly found new jobs and we were stuck with the leftovers. Our coaching staff is very inexperienced.

It’s really hard to make changes if you don’t accept that your process is flawed. That said, none of these goons is gonna show vulnerability on camera.

So we just have to hope that Michael had a convo with Monti and asked “how did we screw this up so bad and how are we going to fix it?” And Monti had some convincing answers.

I'll jump into the deep end and submit my opinion. Lately it's been brutal to be positive for the cardinals. Posts come in droves to the contrary if you make a positive post. Stat's are questioned, number of followers are questioned and of course the ever-popular SOURCE? It's been mentioned many many times, this is a DISCUSSION forum, which implies personal opinions. And personally, I believe we will win this Sunday. If not, I'll be disappointed but not suicidal.....Go Cards! ;)

I am going to jump in to this conversation. Been following this team since 1973 and have seen some very bad football over the years. Here are my thoughts 1) Bissett is not worth the money they are paying him. Would much rather go with Beck to develop him for the future. Take the losses this year and build for the future. 2) Other teams draft oline and develop them into decent players. Why has that been a consistent problem with the Cards doing that. Is it coaching or the players they draft? Not an expert no do not know. 3) the Bidwill family is the one constant in all of this. People saying they need to sell the team are not realistic. They will never sell. We say it all the time for them to hire football people but I think the reputation the Bidwill's have in the league stops good football people from coming to the desert. Feel Michael is starting to act like his father and be cheap. 4) wanted a different DC. Felt they should have cleaned house defensively also.

I think 5-6 wins is possible.

Regardless I will be in LA for the season opener as well as New York watching.

One major and generally fatal flaw with this franchise since 1932. Bidwill family. Ineptitude for almost 100 years. That is quite an accomplishment in and of itself.

They average 4 non-losing seasons a decade, EVERY decade since the 30's when the Bidwills came into the picture in 1932. The most successful decade was the 60's when they had 6 non-losing seasons. Since moving here they are 245-366-2 (about 6.6 wins a season).

So, for less than a handful of seasons in a decade they are the blind squirrel who find the acorn. The rest of the time they can't find the forest for the trees.

As always, I hope they win and am disappointed when they lose for a couple of minutes, but I am never crushed or devastated when they do. History shows it's more likely they end up losing more than they win.

Addressing the title to the thread, I agree K9 but, as Hank Williams Jr. sang, Michael Bidwill is "just carrying on an ole family tradition".

Sorry for the history lesson/rant, but I know that as bleak as it is the Cardinals are the home team and I will root for them, I love football and will watch it until the day I die, even if it's the Cards.

Let me try to explain my post a little better. Right now, according to the sidebar it shows 41 members online and over 15,000 visitors. My point is, there are roughly 10-20 REGULAR DAILY posters. And it sounds like several of you have actually met in person. So when a new guy like Game 8 comes in to express his opinion, he's immediately challenged for his opinion. When I joined, I got at least a dozen replies that made the comment that my "some dumb guy" was perfect for me. Mostly by the REGULARS, although, BIM did hit right on the head...LOL. I guess what I'm trying to say is, the collective "regulars" are not the ALL-POWERFUL OZ of the cardinal's forum. Yes, you guys are waaaay savvier than the rest of us. But challenging someone's post is a waste of your time. It's like college graduates picking on high schoolers.
And with that, I'll step off my soapbox and say again....GO Cards!
And another thing...LOL. I may or may not be changing my handle. Since oaken1 didn't like HzWinIP, I think it works for me..........LOL
