What are the best and worst-case scenarios for the Commanders in 2025?

The Washington Commanders' biggest goal in 2025 is to maintain the level of play they produced in 2024, at minimum. They already had a lot of pieces in place, and GM Adam Peters spent the offseason making sure the holes were filled. He made some big moves, bringing in Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil, and the pressure is real.

There are a lot of ways this season can go for the Commanders, ranging from a massive sophomore slump from Jayden Daniels to culminating in a Super Bowl win. Not all of those paths are as likely as others, though, as circumstances and situations in the NFL are fluid. CBS Sports recently broke down the best and worst-case scenarios for the Commanders.

Best-case scenario: Adam Peters' big swings (i.e. Deebo Samuel, Laremy Tunsil) only serve to highlight Jayden Daniels' infectious magic, and Washington's dynamic quarterback wins the nation's capital its first Super Bowl since 1991.

Worst-case scenario: Daniels' do-it-all gifts come with a cost, as the dual threat can't stay on the field to meet lofty Year 2 expectations, and Dan Quinn is subsequently left to lean on aging placeholders as the rival Eagles stay rolling.

There is a lot of room between those two scenarios for the Commanders, and it's most likely they'll land there.

Now, let's not underestimate what Daniels is capable of. Even if the Commanders don't win as many games this year as they did last year, as long as they make the playoffs, their Super Bowl hopes remain alive. It doesn't have to be pretty, it doesn't have to be dominating, it simply has to be effective.

We won't know what this team is going to do in 2025 until we see them on the field this fall. But, in this writer's personal opinion, Jayden Daniels will perform well enough to land the Commanders in their second consecutive postseason appearance.
