On Sunday afternoon, my wife and I went to a housewarming party thrown by friends who had built their dream home on 5 acres of land in the extreme NORTHERN unincorporated part of Maricopa County. These friends are named Powers. Ginny and Steve.
Two and a half million people live in the greater metropolitan area that is Maricopa County.
Two of those people live in southern Chandler, the extreme SOUTHERN end if Maricopa County, and they drove about 75 miles to be at the housewarming. These people are named Terlizzi. Mike and Carmel.
My wife has known Ginny Powers for 17 years and they often trail ride (horses) together.
Carmel and Mike Terlizzi have known Steve Powers for years and Carmel and Steve work in the same division of General Dynamics (formerly Motorola).
Neither my wife nor I had ever met the Terlizzis, despite having attended at least one common Xmas party at the Powers' old home in Scottsdale.
On Sunday, Mike Terlizzi, aka MadCardDisease, a writer and board moderator here on ASFN, met and recognized me, Jim Skane, aka Skkorpion, and introduced himself at that little party in the desert. The meeting was completely accidental. What a blast.
Small world! Hope all of you get to meet Mike and his better half, Carmel, sometime at Cards games or camp in Flagstaff. Wonderful people.
