Welp, Kuminga just got offered a lot of money. Where does he end up?

Who offered him this contract?

I want nothing to do with Kuminga. If anyone ends up locked in for $20+ million a year over 3-4 years then they'll regret it.

Kuminga is a tweener who doesn't fill any needs and has too much of an ego to risk our future on.
I just keep thinking is he that player that makes this team playoff worthy. I really don't think so. I think we have a better chance of hoping Green becomes more efficient.

Report, Kuminga's agent is prepared to take the qualifying offer.

If correct, this is likely when a trade happens… or not.

His camp has been signaling this is what they will do if they don't get what they want. He kind of has to move on this now that the season is fast approaching. Tired of this being a story though. Hope he just makes a decision and gets on with it.

Yes, if Kuminga takes the Qualifying offer, he will be an Unrestricted Free Agent next offseason.

They will risk losing him for nothing.

If they are unsure about keeping him, they might trade him for lesser value than they want, based on the premise, something is better than nothing.

Kuminga stays with the Warriors for now. It looks like Golden State paid him more to keep the team option.

He agrees to a two-year, $48.5 million contract.

An ESPN article on the Warriors trying to solve the Jonathan Kuminga puzzle.

So grateful we didn't bring him in. He has talent but seemingly lacks the ability to be a positive force consistently. Maybe he needs to go to a losing situation to learn how good he's had it.

I thought I would keep this thread updated to see how it turns out.

At the moment, keeping Allen and O'Neale seems like the right strategy for the Suns.

If Steve Kerr, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green can't get the best out of him, it begs the question, who can?

Yep. This turned out well for us.

he got off to a great start, rebounding better, playing within the system, but he has backslid and then hurt the knee. The big issue he has is when Moody came back it was apparent they're better with Moody on the court than they are with Kuminga.

He has a role but it doesn't appear to be the role he wants, and my guess is they can apparently trade him in january and will attempt to do so again.

They've had an insane early schedule they've already played 12 road games, at the time they played their 12th, Houston had played 12 total games. I think 12 of the first 17 were on the road, in 29 days or something like that. Perfect time for a young guy like Kuminga to take the role he wanted as they have to rest the veterans, especially with Butler having back spasms, and Curry being sick. Didn't happen

It makes sense the Suns would have less interest in Jonathan Kuminga now, without him being on a reasonable 4 year contract.

Also, he seems to have fallen out of favor with the Warriors.

Opposing quotes. I hope they don't get Kuminga because they will have to overpay. We need value guys right now. Plus we have to pay Gillespie and Williams.

My guess is the Suns interest in trading for Kuminga has passed unless they are a third team in a trade.

Why in the world would we want that guy? This team is built on hard-working, defensive dogs with great locker room chemistry. Kuminga is the opposite of all that.

The Suns interest in Kuminga likely waned with his new contract with the Warriors.

However, if there is a multi-team trade, it's possible the Suns could be a third party in a trade involving him.

Kuminga's presence on this team would be a negative. I would rather spend minutes and energy developing Fleming than having Kuminga in the way. I don't want him at all.

If Kuminga were on this roster with all our current players I don't think he'd even be in the rotation, trading for him makes zero sense.

OK. As long as we don't get Kuminga out of that deal.
