I had a co worker who was a cheesehead. she was actually really cool...in a "woman in her mid fifties that has no friends or social life but really loves football" sort of way.
I shamefully admit, the pack drew me in for a while...it started with Favre since I love me some gun slinger QB's...then it transitioned into ARod as a continuance of GB running the gunslinger style... but rodgers went off the deep end with his arrogance...and Brett got caught up in the dick pic fad...and suddenly the pack was more of an embarrassment or odd sideshow than an NFL team to be respected...similar to what happened to dullas when jerry jones took over.
so few nfl teams command the respect they once did...Harbaugh has resurrected Baltimore, and the niners managed to survive the ousting of debartolo fiasco...ried and mahomes have embodied champion for years, even ousting players who tarnished the legacy...which I respect.... but hell, even the outlaw raiders...Al died and instead of "Maverick" owner...baby bowl cut is the poster child for entitled failsons who cant get out of their own way....and then we have Mike....the guy who cant even succeed at being the biggest failure in the NFL....
football used to be my passion, and the NFL the embodiment of that passion... but the overall quality of the individuals involved has it rapidly degrading to an afterthought, passtime...a distraction...a league full of ********* narcissists who arent even worthy of the energy it takes to hate them.
its now like sex. I participate when I can, once in a while it brings joy...but more often than not just a couple hours that ends in disappointment.
