It's highly possible that other teams weren't really knocking on his door to come and be a DC...maybe a position coach, but not DC.

Not sure how accurate but I've heard teams requested but Cards turned them down.

I think part of it is that Vance wants to stay in Arizona (the state).

He needs to go

Fresh start with all new coaches

Well, it seems that Cards coaches walking out the door are doing just fine.

If KK gets the O-C job in Houston, that will make at least five who've found new NFL gigs.

(Maybe, just maybe, the coaching staff wasn't as bad as some kept repeating.)

Problem wasn’t the coaches.
Problem was the coaches, player roster, Keim, MB just didn’t gel or fit. The whole organization was wrong.

1. Players Keim supplied didn’t fit the coaches scheme.
2. VJ’s defense played way too soft.
3. KM played poorly and missed many plays open receivers.
4. KK wasn’t strong, respected enough to hold down the team top to bottom.
5. KK couldn’t be HC and OC st the same time.
6. MB made stupid decisions extending contracts.
7. I think KK and KM didn’t get along and had differences in offensive ideas. KK lost out because KM got paid more.

In all, the parts and pieces just didn’t fit. MB should step back and hire a real football guru/exec/president.

What scheme are you talking about, and who were the players who didn't fit?

Unless you have, and few do, two shutdown corners, defences will tend to be more reactive.

Yes, KK failed in those dual roles, and the extending of contracts proved wrong.

Whether the differences were philosophical or related to game day management, both certainly needed a break from each other.

MB just hired a new GM and AGM, and he who signs the cheques will always be part of the process.

This is way off topic but I saw this and, well, wow. I'm not much of a ball guy but this seems extraordinary.

So the wait is almost over. Did they interview coordinators from KC/Philly at all? Still wondering if they might have their eye on the Philly OC or maybe even Bienemy....

And your excuse if the guy gets hired and we heard about it before we knew who the head coach was?

I don't need an excuse. It hasn't happened. If Jurecki says do it's not likely too.

If it did I'd form an opinion then.

He is just trying so hard in that interview to not say anything, almost sounding like a guy who cheated on his girlfriend and she is questioning him

I disagree, the interviewer is terrible, like someone with ADD, bouncing over the place trying to get something interesting, you're not gonna get any well thought out or well articulated answers in that type of format.

I don't agree, she was attempting to get a straight answer and was trying to back track, but he would not answer with a direct comment on the whole situation. Now her 'flirt' like persona attempting to get those answers is not typical, but Payton was not answering her questions which still were clear enough. I can see why Payton does not want to open up the cluster beep of what has come out, by why do interviews then because that is what people want to hear now lol

Hahaha Rex Ryan. That would change my mind on Payton.
