If you don’t watch the Cards’ players on YouTube, you should. One of the points Weaver brought up was how much Bissett’s experience helped him develop. It made me wonder if the Cards had been underestimating the value of a veteran QB backup. Weaver didn’t say anything negative about Tune, but I have to wonder if Weaver’s growth was limited by Tune’s lack of experience.

So fair of a point Harry. Brissett done seen some football in his life. A good back up acts as an assistant coach and can impart the things he's seeing from a player perspective rather than just a coach. What the heck is anyone gonna glean from Clayton Tune in his ear?

Weaver needs to do better at snatching the ball when the DB is playing him and not the ball. The thing I loved about Hopkins was he would focus on the ball and not be distracted by the DB regardless of the DB’s positioning.

Weaver has good speed which might just be enough to help him earn a spot on the roster with his solid play so far this preseason. He definitely looks more comfortable out there this year. It can't hurt having a solid vet like Brissett throwing him the ball.
