The NFL released the 2025 regular season schedule a couple of weeks ago, and the Washington Commanders are in for a much tougher path to the postseason this year than they were last year. They will work on preparation through offseason workouts and training camp, but they'll also use the preseason to work on various aspects of their game. Today, the Commanders' preseason schedule was finally released.
The Commanders will face the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on a Friday night before hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. They'll end their preseason run just five days later when they host the Baltimore Ravens on the following Saturday.
After those two back-to-back games, the Commanders open their season at home against the New York Giants. Their first real test of the season comes in the second week when they head to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers, and they'll need to rely on what they learned in their short preseason week to have a shot at defeating the Packers on a short week and away from home.
The Commanders started Phase 3 of their offseason workout program today, and minicamp is right around the corner. Then it's training camp and preseason, which are all coming faster than we think. The schedule is set, though, so now we wait to see what Dan Quinn and his team have in store for us in 2025.
