Welcome to the third installment of the Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2025 spring sports season, presented by York County Community College.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls athlete and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's polls is for outstanding athletic accomplishments during the week of April 28-May 3.

How do I cast my vote?​


Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes midnight Thursday, May 8.

How do we learn who wins?​


Winners will be announced in a story published on Friday, May 9 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.

May I nominate for future ballots?​


Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to [email protected]. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

BOYS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Owen Jacques, Oyster River, baseball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Jacques had two hits, including a three-run homer, and four RBI in Oyster Rivers' 13-2 win over Kennett in a Division II game last Wednesday. Jacques also struck out five batters, allowed three hits and one unearned run in four innings in the win. Jacques had two hits in the Bobcats' 6-4 Division II loss to Bow on Monday.

Parker Ketcham, Dover, lacrosse​


Ketcham had four goals and two assists to lead Dover to a 12-6 Division I win over Manchester Memorial last Monday.

Owen Nesbitt, Spaulding, baseball​

Nesbitt struck out nine batters and allowed one earned run in six innings, as Spaulding beat Central, 7-3, last Monday. He also had three hits, scored two runs, drove in a run and stole four bases.

John Schlieder, Newmarket, baseball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Schlieder earned the win on the mound in 3 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and one earned run, with six strikeouts in Newmarket's 12-4 Division IV victory over Portsmouth Christian Academy. He also had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.

Cai Summers, Portsmouth Christian Academy, baseball​

Cai Summers' hit a grand slam in PCA's 14-2 Division IV win over Pittsfield. He hit a home run as part of his four-hit, five-RBI performance in PCA's Division IV win over Pittsfield, 15-0, on Friday.


GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Molly Byrne, Exeter, lacrosse​


Byrne had nine saves to help Exeter defeat Nashua North, 22-3, in a Division I game last Monday.

Piper Catanese, York, softball​

Catanese delivered four hits, including a home run, and two RBI in York's 22-3 Class B South win over Wells on Monday. She had two hits and four RBI to help lead York to a 14-6 Class B South win over Fryeburg Academy on Friday. Catanese also had two hits in a 16-6 Class B win over Poland on Wednesday.

Sya McKay, Somersworth, track and field​

McKay won two events — the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches) and the javelin (113-8) — for Somersworth in a 14-team meet at Winnisquam High School on Saturday.

Laura Milks, Portsmouth, softball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Milks had three hits, three RBIs and scored a game-high four runs in the Clippers' Division I win over Nashua South, 16-3, last Friday.

Meg Uraskevich, Spaulding, softball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Uraskevich struck out eight batters and allowed two hits across five innings, and also drove in two runs in Spaulding's 14-1 Division I win over Manchester Central/Memorial.
