To Prime or not to Prime?

That is the question.

As NASCAR puts the first two races of its five-race Amazon Prime Video experiment in the rearview mirror and moves on to Week 3 at Michigan International Speedway, perspectives run the gamut.

Some fans love Prime’s coverage. They enjoy less commercials — only six minutes of full breaks during the 198 minutes of the Nashville Cup Series race broadcast last week, according to CawsNjaws. They like listening to Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the booth.

And they were probably already paying for Amazon Prime (or they took advantage of a 30-day free trial).

But others loathe Prime’s coverage simply due to accessibility. They don’t want to pay for the streaming service or don’t want to mess around with a new app on their colored televisions.

The ratings have remained decent. According to the Nielson folks, the first two Prime broadcasts have averaged between 2-3 million viewers. That matches races on FS1. It’s lower than the races on Fox, of course.

So let’s conduct a little test of our own. Through two weeks, how are you feeling? Do you like having NASCAR on Prime? Or do you hate it?

The poll will stay open until noon Sunday.
