This is exactly what you think it is and I loved every single minute of it. Nothing really original, but they make no disguise of the fact that they are integrating Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Rambo and Home Alone in the movie. And to the extreme (especially the Home Alone stuff).

The acting was surprisingly good -- David Harbour of course is fantastic and it was great that they got a good actor to play the villain. Not sure he was all that interesting, but John Leguizamo certainly lends a bit of gravitas to the role.

But man, the overt "reinterpretation" of the movies I mentioned above was so great, I had a goofy smile on my face most of the time. Even the main child actor in the movie was good. David Harbour, though... just fantastic.

I would give this a 9 out of 10 just based on entertainment value alone. For what it is, it delivers.
