How was there not a thread on this? So much for the search feature.

Anyway, 3 seasons in and it's still one of the best irreverent cartoons out there.

For those of you who haven't watched it, I'd highly reccomend it. The show was created by Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick and is basically a satire of all of the mystery cartoons in the past (ie Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest, etc).

It has a similar type feel to the Tick. In fact, both of the creators are friends with Ben Edlund and he even wrote an episode last season (Viva Los Muertos).

They're 7 episodes in

The directors commentary for some episodes in season 1 and 2 is hilarious if you don't have the DVD's yet and you're a fan, you're missing out.

I gotta pick them up.

Venture Brothers is the best show on TV right now.

Season 3 is pretty good so far. But, Season 2 was phenominal!

Great characters. Good writing. Funny. And entertaining.

They are available online for free.

I introduced this show to my old engineering boss, and he nearly had a heart attack from laughing so hard.

He was an old Jonny Quest buff.

OK which was better season 2 or season 3?

It was season 2 until the end of the season 3. Those last two episodes we great.

I still go with season 2. The episode Victor. Echo. November. where Hank and Dean go out on a date is, IMO, the best episode they every produced.

Dr. Venture: Why are you naked?
Brock: To prey on their fear, move like an animal, to feel the kill.

I'd say for story season 2 was a little more focused, but for character development and the odd-ball dialogue that comes with it, season 3 is "tops".

Season 4 started two weeks ago.

Pretty good so far, the first episode was great.
