Infielder Ildemaro Vargas has been designated for assignment and right-hander Yoan Lopez has been optioned, moves made necessary by rosters going from 30 to 28. Both guys entered the season off strong showings at camp.

And why is Rondon (who can't get anybody out) here and Lopez gone?

There is no way they are going to send Lamb down.

If only we could trade him to a team hard up for a
LH hitting corner infielder or a DH, who saw his
decent stats for a couple of seasons (even though
we know his bat died during the second half).

The illogical loyalty to Lamb reminds me of what we had to endure with Russ Ortiz and then Shelby Miller and Zach Godley. I have never seen this much leash with someone in the line-up who struggles to hit .100, though.
