Coming off a run to the College Football Playoff semifinal last season, Penn State head coach James Franklin is looking to put together a roster that can take the next step toward bringing home a national championship to Happy Valley. Already with a roster expected to compete for a Big Ten championship and once again secure a spot in the playoff in 2025, Franklin will look to the NCAA transfer portal to put the finishing touches on his team's roster next season. Of course, he will also have to deal with a number of players leaving for other opportunities as well.
Players that enter the NCAA transfer portal are free to explore all of their potential opportunities with new programs. A player may withdraw from the NCAA database at any time to remain with their current school, but the school is not required to hold a scholarship slot for that player. Most players do leave for new schools after entering the transfer portal.
