In a surprise twist few saw coming, this year’s NASCAR All-Star Race is helping promote the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
A brand-new paint job on Carson Hocevar’s No. 77 car, shown off just days before race day, now sports a massive WNBA All-Star logo on the hood, turning heads and starting conversations across two major sports worlds.
The move is part of a bold marketing push by Spire Motorsports, Gainbridge and the WNBA All-Star 2025 Host Committee.
Their goal is to connect basketball fans with racing fans and get people buzzing about the WNBA’s biggest event of the year, which will take place July 18–19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Indiana Pacers and Fever reporter Scott Agness was the first to show off the look, sharing a photo on X.
This marks the first time Indianapolis will host the WNBA All-Star events. The weekend will include the All-Star Game, the STARRY 3-Point Contest and the Skills Challenge — all happening under one roof at the home of the Indiana Fever.
“Carson driving a WNBA All-Star paint scheme is an opportunity to cross-promote two properties in our sponsorship portfolio,” said Mike Nichols, Chief of Sponsorship Strategy at Gainbridge, per Speedway Digest. “The scheme highlights our commitment to investing in women’s sports.”

Live race coverage for the NASCAR All-Star Race will air on FS1 this Sunday, starting at 5:30 p.m. ET, with Hocevar aiming to qualify during Saturday’s All-Star Open.
Meanwhile, the WNBA All-Star 2025 Host Committee announced that up to 500 women can donate healthy breast tissue at the All-Star Cure event on July 12–13, one week before the games, said Fieldhouse Files with Scott Agness.
The event, hosted at IU’s Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, supports research to fight breast cancer.
“I’m incredibly proud that we’re using the global platform of WNBA All-Star to shine a powerful light on the need for breast tissue donations,” said Tamika Catchings, WNBA legend and event co-chair. “It can be a game changer for cancer research.”
As Hocevar’s car speeds around the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway this weekend, it’s doing more than chasing a checkered flag. It’s driving attention to a league, a city and a cause — all on the rise.
