Ronda Rousey’s next opponent, Brazilian Bethe Correia, took some below the belt shots at Ronda Rousey last month in an interview with Combate:

“I want to knock her out, show to everyone that she is a lie,” . “She wants to stand up with me, let’s see. I want to humiliate her and show the world she has no MMA. She is focused on movies, books…

“Under pressure, she is proving weak. When her mom put pressure on her, she ran away from home. When she lost, it was because of drugs. That’s not a superhero. She is not mentally healthy; she needs to take care of herself. She is winning, so everybody is around her cheering her up, but when she realizes she is not everything that she believes she is, I don’t know what might happen. I hope she does not kill herself later on (laughs).”

Ronda felt that Correia was explicitly referencing her father’s suicide and called her out for it:

If true, that Correia new of that and said those words intentionally; that's really messed up. Which is just what Correia is going to be when they fight!

Thanks for sharing. We got the last PPV for the McGregor fight; but, I figured this one would be quick. Plus, it's just me and baby tonight, so it didn't seem like a wise investment.

I don't know why anyone would want to step in the ring with Rousey. She is bad ass, in a good way, obviously.

Her opponents pretty much know they are going to lose, but they get a decent payout being in the main fight. I'd fight her for 100k+!

I think Correia was just following orders and trying to generate interest. All those personal attacks were just what the Dr. ordered. People are not going to keep paying to see Rousey fight for a few seconds.
