Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers dismantled the New York Knicks in Saturday's Game 6 to advance to the NBA Finals, and Haliburton's father was loving it.
The embattled dad was in the crowd for Saturday's closeout game, with cameras catching his emotional celebration in the final minutes of the fourth quarter before the Pacers won 125-108.
John Haliburton had been in some hot water after getting into an on-court confrontation with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after the Pacers eliminated them from the playoffs, leading the team to temporarily ban him from games.
John Haliburton remained in the crowd on Saturday, waving a Pacers flag as Indiana pushed their lead to 20 points with less than a minute remaining in the game. He later turned to show off a jacket with his son's name on the back. Fans noted that he was on good behavior on Saturday.
As NBA insider Shams Charania reported earlier this week, the Pacers lifted the punishment to allow the elder Haliburton to attend his son's games, and watched on Saturday as they won to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.
"Tyrese Haliburton’s father, John, will be allowed to attend Pacers home games in a suite beginning with Tuesday's pivotal Game 4 against the Knicks," Charania shared on X. "John Haliburton missed eight games following a confrontation with Giannis Antetokounmpo on April 29."
Haliburton's dad will now get to see at least two more games in Indiana, with the Pacers moving on to the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
