With fewer than 100 days until the first NFL game of the 2025 season, Tuesday marked the unofficial start of the countdown as many teams entered the final phase of their offseason programs.

The Tennessee Titans were no different, kicking off Phase 3 of the offseason workout program in Nashville. While no official word was given, by all appearances, turnout for these voluntary workouts looked strong. Head coach Brian Callahan has made changes this offseason following his disappointing first year in charge, with the hope that a different approach will lead to more success in the future.

Currently, expectations for the Titans outside of Nashville are low, with many analysts already discounting their chances in 2025. This is understandable to some extent, although with new faces sprinkled throughout the roster, many questions remain unanswered.

Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports recently took a look across the NFL and broke down his list of the 100 most important players across the league, and outlined two for the Titans as they attempt to rise from the depths.

99. Cam Ward is the face of a new era in Tennessee. The quick rundown is a marvelously talented passer with pocket poise and a willingness to make the big throws. He'll experience his ups and downs, mainly because of the last part of that sentence.

100. Ward could easily be the only Titans player on this list -- if he looks completely lost, not a ton else matters -- but JC Latham is a storyline worth monitoring as he switches from left tackle to right tackle, a development that should be a major boost for him and for Tennessee's offensive line as a whole. That unit was devastated by injuries (and a really rough right side of the line) in a disastrous 2024.

Ward is an easy choice. The first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft has a lot of pressure on his shoulders in hopes of improving the Titans' offense. While there will be some growing pains, his abilities could help propel the offense to new levels in 2025 if he can consistently protect the football.

The Titans had chances in 2024, but due to careless turnovers, they were unable to close out games.

Of course, many of those turnovers were caused by the subpar play of the offensive line. The Titans have revamped their line over the offseason in hopes of changing their fortunes. Latham moving back to his more natural right tackle position could be a huge step forward for the offense. Latham was not perfect at left tackle in 2024, but he was not the reason the line faltered.

Now, after the additions of Dan Moore and Kevin Zeitler, the line is much improved, and Latham solidifying the right side will be a significant upgrade over Nicholas Petit-Frere and the chorus of other players who failed to seize their opportunities last season.
