Boom. Trump is going to be triggered bigly!
That’s a fake quote, guys.
Well, you are a lot of fun at parties i bet.
If I’m ever invited to one, I will report back.
But is it believable that someone would say that about Trump?
Yes, yes it is.
Automakers tell Trump that tariffs on autos will be bad bigly...
And US Solar companies are publicly bashing him too. He slapped a 30% tariff on foreign solar panels to "help US Solar". US companies all said it was a bad idea, if solar gets too expensive nobody will use it and that will ultimately hurt US companies too,. So what happened, in the next 5 months, 2.5 billion dollars in solar installs or orders were CANCELLED due to the rising prices? So far studies indicate almost none of those cancelled orders were replaced with orders to US solar companies, so the net result is less solar power being used, less adoption, which hurts US solar too.
Which of course is what Trump wants as he wants to boost "clean coal." I wish someone would take a dumptruck full of clean coal and dump it on the front lawn at Mar A Lago.
Or maybe jam it where the sun doesn't shine in Herr Gropinfuhrer.....
Do US companies even make solar cells? All US solar companies I've seen import the cells and then assemble into panels
Some still do but very few now and yes most of them now import and that is hitting them hard too. And yes many of the lost solar jobs will be assembly and install jobs. I only know this because I nearly bought stock in First Solar but held off after they announced in addition to having a manufacturing plant in Ohio, they were expanding and opening a new one there in a different city. Given Trumps' stance on solar energy it just seemed like a very bad idea to me, so I didn't buy the stock. They also have a plant in Malaysia and I have no idea what % is made there as opposed to Ohio.
The expanded plant in Ohio was going to create 500 new jobs, from what I understand, First Solar is considering putting the plant on hold now.
