Remember Trump knows the President of Puerto Rico very well, this could go very poorly for Edgardo Ramos.

I doubt there’s anything in there that will change the minds of the 87% of the GOP that still loves him.

Unless that number goes down the senate will never convict him.

How could the appeals court have been engaged so quickly after the ruling?

Because the Justice Department Trump's lawyers knew this ruling was coming and had the appeal queued to go the second it came down.

Emergency motion for stay was already written. An appellate court is going to grant it without thought so it can hear the appeal on the merits.

He will probably say that his tax return are perfect, like his phone calls.

Just in case anyone is curious, the standard for preserving bank account records in the United States is 7 years. If I served [insert bank of your choice here] with a subpoena duces tecum for their files for the last 10 years, I would get 10/2012-19, and a notice that they no longer have possession of the records from 2009-9/2012.

I think they have to retain those records by law for 7 years (I could be wrong). I would be surprised if a bank could voluntarily agree that all records would be purged after 2-3 years.
