HOUSTON -- With a triple in the first half of Wednesday’s home game against the San Antonio Spurs, Rockets forward Kevin Durant moved into the No. 10 spot in NBA history in made 3-pointers.

With 2,291 treys, Durant moved past Vince Carter for the solo top-10 placement. Carter is now a member of the Naismith Memorial Baskeball Hall of Fame.

Given the NBA’s modern emphasis on 3-point shots, many of the current top 10 are active players. The list is headlined by Stephen Curry and James Harden at No. 1 and No. 2, while Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, LeBron James (No. 4 through No. 6, respectively), and Paul George (No. 9) are also among the 10 best.

Earlier this month, Durant moved into the No. 6 spot in all-time NBA scoring.

In a few days, Durant — a future Hall of Famer, himself — is expected to be named to an NBA All-Star team for the 16th time in his distinguished career.

Of course, what’s most important to Durant and the Rockets was Wednesday’s game result (box score). At halftime, Houston (28-16) had an eight-point lead over the Spurs (31-15) in an important battle between teams near the top of the 2025-26 Western Conference standings.

Led by Durant, the Rockets defeated the Spurs last week. That game was also played inside Houston’s Toyota Center, where the Rockets are 16-3 this season.

Entering Wednesday night, that home winning percentage was best among all NBA teams this season.
