The No. 1 selection officially signed his contract on Wednesday. Cam Ward will play his rookie contract under a four-year deal worth $48.7 million, which is fully guaranteed. His AAV of $12.1 million puts him in the middle of NFL quarterbacks.

Ward, who was recently awarded Warren Moon's retired number, is expected to play a vast majority of the snaps in his first season for the Titans. The team has Will Levis at quarterback, but most don't anticipate he will be able to fend off the talented dual-threat quarterback for very long. There is a reason the team made Ward the No. 1 overall selection, they knew the offense needed a shot in the arm under center.

The Titans announced the contract signing on social media on Wednesday:

There isn't much wiggle room when it comes to a rookie contract in the NFL, these deals have a rookie wage scale that they must adhere to. The total value for the No. 1 selection was the $48.75 million slot that Ward signed for. The No. 2 overall selection, Travis Hunter, was slotted for $46.57 in total value, just over $2 million less overall than the top pick of the 2025 NFL draft.

Had Ward been selected No. 1 in 2024, that number would have been $39.48 million. Almost a $10 million difference.
