Auburn basketball won its second game of the 2026 NIT on Sunday, defeating Seattle U, 91-85. Now, they will shift their focus to their third-round matchup against the Nevada Wolf Pack, with the winner heading to Indianapolis to compete in the NIT Final Four.
Auburn will face Nevada in the final game of the quarterfinal round on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CT inside Neville Arena. ESPN2 will air the game.
Auburn held off a furious comeback attempt by Seattle on Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals. The Tigers led by 11 points with 0:34 remaining before the Redhawks closed the gap to four points with a three-pointer by Brayden Maldonado just 28 seconds later. However, Auburn was able to ice the game with a pair of free throws from Tahaad Pettiford.
Nevada got solid production from its starting five as four of them registered 10 or more points in the Wolfpack's 73-63 win over Liberty in round two of the NIT. Elijah Price led the team with 15 points, while the trio of Corey Camper Jr, Vaughn Weems, and Tayshawn Comer recorded 10 points each. Price and Camper also combined to haul in 23 rebounds. Nevada trailed Liberty for 13:44 of game time, but used a 15-2 run over the final 3:58 to secure the win.
The winner of Auburn-Nevada in round three of the NIT will face the Illinois State-Dayton winner on April 2 in Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The NIT Championship is set for April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Pacers.
