This is for lead paint certification. I already had to send 2 of my employees to get licensed at a cost of $500. Now I have to get the company licensed. Another $3 hundy. We are required to test for lead paint on any house built before 1974. Half the homeowners in the world have no clue when their house was built so we have to go look it up online, then file paperwork. We install doors for Costco and they have to have our license on file or they get fined.

I get it that lead paint is a danger to children... (I was probably teethed on it), but all this runs downhill and small businesses like mine bear the burden of enforcing the regulation.

I won't get into the complicated and expensive abatement procedure, but if a door or jamb tests positive we don't touch it... inspections, tenting, hepa vacuums, etc. The homeowner is SOL they gotta pay for it. Imagine trying to remodel your home and all the cabinetry, windows, doors test positive. Your house becomes a superfund site. Just replacing the garage door and jamb adds about $2K to the cost.

    Rant over.

It’s an entirely separate reality for these clowns.

    100's of sexual abuse lawsuits.

The Boy Scouts were a big part of my life when I was growing up. Don't know if it's still there, but I went to a summer camp somewhere on the Mogollon rim back in the '60s... Camp Geronimo.. maybe was the name. Nothing weird ever happened with me in the Scouts. Who knows how the organization got so screwed up.

Edit: I did get sprayed by a skunk on a cub scout camping trip once

Oh, the motion practice that’s about to befall that BK court. At least it’s in DE BK ct.

The suits will be allowed to proceed. The only question is in what venue.

If abuse is dating back to 1944, they lost their way in the beginning. Maybe I was just one of the fortunate. In Cub scouts my mom was the den mother. She made us cookies and my dad showed us gun safety and how to use a pocket knife, catch trout, start a fire, what to do if you're lost ... all that kind of stuff. This is sad that so many young boys suffered this horrific trajedy. I've been searching my mind to see if I could remember anything that happened back then that might have been a sign something wrong was going on. I can't come up with anything.

In the Bernie thread, the talk is about those who earn their own keep... well, here's a job I didn't know about. Stealing bees.
