I must admit this practice is so horrifying that I've pushed it out of my mind whenever I read something about it. Too terrible for me to even contemplate.

It may well become legal again as the law is about to expire and the Trump administration will refuse to defend it in court... how a law like this would have an expiration date in the first place is beyond me.

I'm talking about FGM.. female genital mutilation.

Try to explain this to me... https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/14/trump-campaign-women-donations-1319877

    Religious freedom, y'all.

In all seriousness, FGM is horrifying.

I get your anger but, in typical fashion, we don't know the whole story. I managed school kitchens for a number of years and I know parents who gamed the system, took their time paying off debts and kids who never told parents they were out of money. Over time I gave away mangy meals but that was in direct conflict with policy. There is a reason rules exist. You cannot simply equate doing good things and a dollar amount with one side being right and the other being wrong.

I'm curious if they was her policy with all students, or just certain ones. That would make a huge difference, but I admit I didn't read the article.

The kid ended up paying up, but I guess true Christian behavior doesn't really pay off....

Make every lunch for every kid free regardless of their wealth then out won't matter. My guess is, again, there is more to the story, but please let's bestow sainthood on lunch lady Bonnie. I mean technically she was only stealing.
