We saw today where Murray is at his most lethal in the run game.

It is not the zone read (definitely).

It is not the traditional option.

It's not even the naked bootleg (although this appears to be #2).

It is the QB draw.

When Murray drops back, then runs back through the middle (maybe a little off the tackle position at the most), that is when his cat-like change of direction makes it absolutely no contest vs D linemen, LBs, SSs etc., and he can gash teams for 15, 20, 25 yards a pop.

When he tries to run wide, without any misdirection, he can usually just barely beat the DT or OLB to the edge. Maybe it's because they usually have just a little bit of angle on him.

Bootlegs seem to work pretty well too, but Kingsbury seems to save these for critical 3rd and 4th down situations.

But the QB draw is always there, and I think maybe both K2 and K1 are gaining a little confidence that it's a viable option. Murray took a little bit of punishment today, but held up okay. Wouldn't mind seeing the QB draw a little more in the red zone.
