The NFL will release its 2025 regular-season schedule Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. Arizona time. At that point, we will see how many prime-time games the Arizona Cardinals have, when they have their bye week and whether they start the season at home or on the road.
Let's look at the last five years of the Cardinals' season openers.
The Cardinals have opened the season on the road in four of the last five years. The one time they opened at home, they were coming off a playoff appearance.
They have faced an AFC team in three of the last five years.
They have played a divisional game once.
So what might the Cardinals' season opener be?
Immediately, their games against the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals come into focus.
They would open on the road against the Colts, Texans or Bengals.
Now, the NFL already announced that the 2025 league season opener is between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
Knowing that, we can perhaps look at a Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks or Los Angeles Rams.
With the Cardinals having some sort of expectations for 2025, perhaps this is a season they open at home.
That could be an NFC West game or, if it an AFC game, it could be the Houston Texans or Jacksonville Jaguars.
We will find out soon enough.
