A lot of viewers have been sending in PMs saying that I don't give the Calcio enough love here in this thread. So here we have Mr. Pirlo with a classic goal from last season:

Indefensible.

Does anyone follow SerieA or La Liga? Seems like mostly EPL talk here.

Great movement on that ball for sure. Crouch's goal above that one is better IMO.

Found another video for the Crouch goal. Not even a comparison, IMO. Crouch's goal was a great one, and would have been goal of the year without Cisse's wonder strike, no doubt. The difference is that where Crouch got his foot around it, striking with his instep and giving it the natural curl, Cisse hit it with the outside of his foot in the opposite direction. A FAR more difficult shot to hit, although they sailed in similar manners.

This goal should NOT be on this thread. As was pointed out by the announcers, it was a badly missed cross that made the back of the net. Still a dagger in the heart of our comeback efforts, but he wasn't actually trying to do that.

Unbelievable. As a Barcelona fan, I'm not especially enamoured of Ibra, but that was a spectacular goal. One of the best I've ever seen.

Insane goal. Wow. Defense should have been on the line to cover the GK though.

I suppose the one defender had a chance to make the all out run to the line to guard against such lucky shot.

True, but isn't that what defenders are trained to do? Cover the line when the GK comes out for the goal.

Mexes goal vs. Anderlecht. Better than Ibra's? The goalie was still in goal for this one.
