We do notSo, at some point we have to find out if CB is our QB of the future
Agreed. Can you see a scenario where an untested Beck on the roster absolutely does NOT prevent the Cardinals from drafting a QB1 with their seemingly-to-be high draft pick next year, and then letting the pick and Beck battle it out? Thats the most logical to me.We do not
if we get to the end of the season, and Beck has had no material run -- says one of a few things:We do not
And, once again we pass up an opportunity to draft a top defensive player. Or possibly trade back for extra picks. So much, for improving our Defense. As someone once said, "If you have two QB's, you don't have a QB."Agreed. If CB somehow wins, you have a nice problem. Two highly touted QBs to play with. I understand the people thinking every 3rd round draft pick "needs to contribute, NOW" especially on a bad team, but the numbers dont back that belief up. Swinging in the 3rd for a potential QB1 is a good swing IMO, even if you dont like the pick, someone does. Let it rip.
I don’t even think this has to be a hit/miss proposition. If Beck is a long-term #2 QB that provides more value than we got from BJ Ojulari or Trey Benson or Elijah Jones.Swinging in the 3rd for a potential QB1 is a good swing IMO, even if you dont like the pick, someone does. Let it rip.
Unfortunately, yes, I can see that scenario. I could envisage Monti deciding to roll with Beck, draft another premium position, and consider it as a kind of 2 for 1 deal. Idiotic from my POV, but believable.Agreed. Passing on a top defensive player and taking a swing at a QB in round 1 of the draft next year while having Beck on the roster is far more excusable and palatable than passing on a top defensive player and taking a RB in round 1 this year. And, once again we pass up an opportunity to draft a top defensive player. It’s also much more likely that you can find a very good Edge later in the draft than you’ll find at other positions.Passing on a top defensive player and taking a swing at a QB in round 1 of the draft next year while having Beck on the roster is far more excusable and palatable than passing on a top defensive player and taking a RB in round 1 this year.
Also, there are several other ways to improve defensive personnel than using a first round draft pick.
But, I keep thinking of Aaron Donald.Passing on a top defensive player and taking a swing at a QB in round 1 of the draft next year while having Beck on the roster is far more excusable and palatable than passing on a top defensive player and taking a RB in round 1 this year.

Aaron Donald was selected 13th overall. JJ Watt was selected 11th overall. TJ Watt was selected 30th overall. But, I keep thinking of Aaron Donald.
Technically, the Tuesday injury report will be the first report that counts for game week. This week is a light work week and I doubt there is much padded practice happening.Hang on. I was absent for the board for almost two weeks. Do we seriously have our star, high draft pick RB and our only other option to start at RG not practicing heading into game week? WTF happened while I was gone? And WTF, Will Johnson? Maybe he wasn't the banger pick we thought, although I'll still defend it as a nice swing by Monti.
$21 for a churro?flaming tomahawk gives it away

That $166 Admin fee and auto $500 tip...$21 for a churro?
thats certainly an option as well. Not one I'd advocate for....Unfortunately, yes, I can see that scenario. I could envisage Monti deciding to roll with Beck, draft another premium position, and consider it as a kind of 2 for 1 deal. Idiotic from my POV, but believable.
I’d be fine with it if it’s Will Anderson instead of CJ Stroud, Bryce Young, or Anthony Richardson.thats certainly an option as well. Not one I'd advocate for....
from "MY" perspective...I.E., as Joe fanEven if Jacoby is playing well, I'm wondering when will Carson Beck play? Because of playing in the West and with all indications, playing a tough sked, no matter how well JB plays, I doubt we'll be talking playoffs. So, at some point we have to find out if CB is our QB of the future. Would two games be enough?
holy crap!!!$21 for a churro?
our worst case scenario Garth, in my opinion, is for Beck to play 2 or 3 games and play really well.Even if Jacoby is playing well, I'm wondering when will Carson Beck play? Because of playing in the West and with all indications, playing a tough sked, no matter how well JB plays, I doubt we'll be talking playoffs.
