If I were to relate to this to the Cards. Even if Petzing's offense is what it is. I'd rather Kyler just force feed MHJ no matter what.

Why can’t this be us smh @Chopper0080
I’m happy for the Lions. Their fans deserve such.

God threw the Cardinals their bone years ago(superbowl game).

Looks like we only get one bone a century or so.

Well at least our fans will never have that feeling of being spoiled.

I hate to say it, but the Cards have killed so much of my joy that I have to find time to feel good for other teams fans. Glad for Lions fans, even happy for Bears fans for at least feeling like they have their QB. There is a lot hope around the league. Time will tell if Bidwill ever allows it in Arizona.

Do you want anyone from Keims 2021 draft class in the roster with an extension? Isn't Collins the only one left? Why don't we wait until 2026/7 to see if Monti's 1st draft is still around and being extended.

PS, take a look at Detroit's drafting before their current regime started in 2021. I mentioned in another thread about how many 1st round bust WRs they went through, to finally hit on Megatron.

Calvin Johnson was drafted in 2007. How does that relate? Detroit's drafting was good prior to 2021, but I agree that the new GM and coach built this team.

It's no surprise that Superbowl trip was fueled by our our own masterclass back in 2004.

1. Fitz
2. Dansby
3. Dockett
5. Antonio Smith

Keim covered up his mediocre drafting with some miracle trades; Palmer, and Dhop were superstars at critical positions that Keim managed to get for practically nothing.

But "build through the draft" is real. It's hard though too. Probably a fair amount of luck involved.

People say this every year tho.
People always question how the Saints will get under the cap every year and yet they do by restructuring their contracts and pushing money into the future. What Barnwell is saying is that they can't burn it down in a year if they wanted to because of all of that guaranteed money in the future.

Do you think it’s going to get better anytime soon tho

The only way it gets better for any team is an annus mirabilis draft class. You hit on 3-5 players who rapidly become high-quality starters and you have a lot of flexibility to play with. Then you have challenge of whether and how to keep those guys around.

So, if the Saints have another draft class similar to the one they got in 2017 (seven players, all of whom are still playing in the NFL), it'll get better.

It's pretty clear that no one in that organization is interested in burning it down. And a lot of it isn't guaranteed money; it's void years.

They can cut Taysom Hill with a June 1 designation and save $10 million on their cap. You can restructure Cameron Jordan and get another $9 million back. You get $21 million back by cutting Marshon Lattimore as a post June 1 guy. Save $12 million by restructuring Ryan Ramczyk. Save $30 million by restructuring Derek Carr. According to the OTC calculator, those deals along get you under the cap in 2025.
