Looks like Nash is out until the playoffs....errr....I mean season since the Clippers are the only L.A. going to the playoffs.

"I doubt it," D'Antoni said after the Lakers' shootaround Monday when asked if Nash would play again this season with 23 games remaining, starting with the Trail Blazers on Monday night. "I don't think so. What's the end game? We've talked about it. He's not completely healthy. We have 23 games left. We're not going to make the playoffs. So what's his objective into taking minutes away from the young guys that we're trying to develop? That's kind of the theme that we're talking about."

Meeks dropped a monster. Kind of nice to thump both boston and OKC while tanking.

Good times.

I love this season??

Looks like more trouble in LA-LA land.

Kobe wants a new coach next year, big surprise there, but Kobe has never really won under anyone but Phil Jackson and Jackson just accepted a job in New York's front office. Maybe all the talking heads on ESPN and such will finally shut up about Jackson coming back to save the Lakers and magically making them a contender again. Before they hired D'Antoni and at least the first 2-3 month of him being their coach all you heard from national sports analysts is how they hired the wrong coach and should fire D'Antoni and bring in Jackson. Jackson wasn't going there though without more front office control, which Buss and Mitch Kupchak weren't giving up. Add that to the fact they paid D'Antoni a boatload of cash there was no way he was getting fired just a couple months into the job. The Laker bias in the media is worse than most Laker fans thinking they can just sign any and every free agent they want in the offseason.

it's going to be awesome watching broken down Kobe play on a mediocre team and constantly blow up in the press for the next two years, ending his career as sad as humanly possible.

even if they get a top 3 pick, unless they get number 1 and take Parker, none of these guys are going to be ready to really step up and contribute in a major way for at least a year, if not two. and what are they going to do this year in FA...sign Melo? Man, what a disaster a Melo-Kobe combo will be.

It would be funny if they snagged Embiid in the draft somehow and Kobe managed to run him out of town before retiring. Kobe has a terrible history sharing the spotlight with talented bigs, which is what Embiid should be down the line.

I'm sure Laker fans will say Shaq was washed up when he was ousted, Howard sucks, Pau is soft and Bynum was a joke but all of them made 1st or 2nd team All NBA teams, All Star teams, and more importantly were major pieces in the Lakers winning titles. Kobe can't do it alone. Also I know Pau hasn't left yet but that's not because LA hasn't tried to unload him before his contract expired.

And Kobe has lobbied a billion times for them not to trade pau.

Nice try tho.

He has bashed him in the media more than he has lobbied for them not to trade him. He has ripped on him basically since he got there but unlike Dwight or Shaq, Pau has remained pretty silent in response. He is the perfect second banana for Kobe because Kobe can say anything he wants about him and Pau just deals with it. That is probably why Kobe wants him around now is he realizes he needs an All-Star caliber big to play alongside him and ideally one who won't challenge his position as the Alpha of the team.

When did the lobbying to keep Pau start, this year? Because I've heard it this season but before Pau was Kobe's favorite scapegoat.

Ever since he's been here. Sure he asks pau to get more physical and put his big boy pants on but so does every laker fan.

Then why did Kobe's wife tell Pau's girlfriend he was cheating on her?

Vanessa. Actually, almost all the player wives and girlfriends. There was a damned show with some of them. Catty, weird bunch.

Hilarious that those ladies are nba relevant as their dudes.

So are the Lakers really going to try teaming Melo up with Kobe? I don't see how that could work even though Melo has changed as a player over his time in New York but even if they did do that, Melo couldn't get the Knicks to the playoffs in the east. I don't see him helping much, if at all. His impact will most likely be negative, not as much on the court as in the reporting.
