OKLAHOMA CITY — Texas softball earned a return trip to the Women’s College World Series with a hard-fought a 6-5 win over Clemson on Saturday in the third and final game of a spirited NCAA super regional series.

A year ago, Texas picked up its biggest WCWS win in program history with a 10-0 rout over the Gators. Mac Morgan, one of the heroes of last weekend's super regional against Clemson, threw a one-hitter in the win. Texas knocked Florida ace Keagan Rothrock out of the game in the first inning with three hits and four runs.
The Longhorns also fared well against Florida this season while winning two of three games in an SEC series. Texas scored 20 runs while rolling to 7-2 and 13-7 wins in the first two games when third baseman Mia Scott totaled four hits and six RBIs and outfielder Ashton Maloney went 5-for-9 with five runs. Florida won the third game 3-1 when Katelynn Oxley and Ava Brown combined to hold Texas to two hits. Rothrock didn't pitch in the series while getting some midseason rest.
