The Houston Texans are getting healthy at perhaps the most underrated position entering their first AFC South matchup following a 0-2 start.

Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said wide receiver Christian Kirk is expected to return this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars during Tuesday's press conference. Kirk, who was traded from Jacksonville in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick this offseason, missed the first two games of the regular season against the Los Angeles Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a hamstring injury.

Wide receiver Braxton Berrios is also expected to be back after missing the first two games.

"Both guys have been doing really well, progressing well in their rehab," Ryans said. "So, we'll see how it goes throughout the week but we're expecting to get those guys back this week.”

Sitting winless, Houston needs a spark for offensive help and hope Kirk can add the jolt in the passing game. Through two games, the Texans have scored only one passing touchdown and rank dead last in points per game (14).

It's more than just that. According to Next Gen State, quarterback C.J. Stroud has been under pressure on 39% of his dropbacks, which is the seventh-most among starting quarterbacks.

Kirk has been a stable No. 2 option, especially during his tenure in Arizona with the Cardinals. Entering the final year of his four-year, $72 million deal signed in Jacksonville back in 2022, Kirk is looking 2,274 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns while also missing 12 games in that span.

Kickoff from EverBank Stadium is scheduled for noon on CBS.
