Add another rookie to the Houston Texans minicamp squad Friday afternoon.

According to the Texans' transaction list, the Texans were awarded rookie linebacker Jackson Woodard off waivers. A former starter at UNLV, Woodard initially signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted rookie, but was following rookie minicamp earlier this week.

The 2024 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, Woodard began his career at Arkansas before moving with former Razorbacks defensive coordinator Barry Odom over to Las Vegas. He finished his final season there with 135 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four interceptions and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

The Texans now have seven undrafted rookies on their roster heading into rookie minicamp Friday morning. He's also the second linebacker to join the roster as an undrafted free agent.
