Tennessee Titans named best fit for free agent LB Kyzir White

Now that NFL teams are starting to get a first-hand look at their rosters during the offseason workout program, it's time for teams to use the post-draft wave of free agency to round out their rosters as they work toward training camp.

Like many NFL teams, the Tennessee Titans still have some holes to fill and could find a bargain at this stage of free agency. While the top names available, Aaron Rodgers and Amari Cooper, appear to be headed elsewhere, other players could help solidify the Titans' roster.

Tennessee could use a veteran to help bolster the young inside linebacker room, and there are still some available that could fit into the system. Matt Bowen of ESPN agrees and views the Titans as a great fit for one of the inside linebackers.

Kyzir White, LB

Best team fit: Tennessee Titans

The Titans signed linebacker Cody Barton in free agency, but there is still room for coordinator Dennard Wilson to add another veteran at the second level. White is an off-ball linebacker with run-and-hit traits, and he recorded nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season with the Cardinals. He has the pursuit speed to track the ball on the edges, with six interceptions and 16 pass breakups in his career.

In Tennessee, White has the traits to play a three-down role. Wilson can set him up on pressures to make big plays.

The Titans brought in Cody Barton, but have not done much else to help offset the complete overhaul of the unit during the offseason. White is a player that is easy to connect to Tennessee and one that makes a lot of sense.

Tennessee’s linebackers struggled in coverage during 2024 and White, who entered the league as a hybrid linebacker/safety, could fill a void that plagued the defense last season.

Currently, Otis Reese appears to have the inside track at starting next to Barton. While he will face some competition from young linebackers James Williams and Cedric Gray, veteran competition could have a positive impact on the defense in 2025.
