With the Tennessee Titans in the midst of a rebuild, the chances of reaching a Super Bowl in the immediate future are slim. While every fan is optimistic, the reality is that at this moment there are too many holes that still need to be filled. But that doesn’t mean Tennessee can't be destined for Super Bowl success.

Everyone is excited about the progress being made with the new Nissan Stadium. The $2.1 billion megaplex that aims to be more than the home of the Titans. The translucent domed stadium, which comes with a 12,000 square foot community space for year-round use, wants to become one of the top destinations for any national sports extravaganza.

On Thursday, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee made the NFL fully aware of the desire to potentially host the 2029 Super Bowl in Nashville at the new Nissan Stadium. In a "letter of interest" sent to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL, he states:

Dear Commissioner Goodell and NFL team,

I am writing in support of efforts for Nashville to be the host city for the next available Super Bowl in 2029. As Tennessee’s capital and a dynamic global hub, the city of Nashville is uniquely positioned to welcome the NFL for a memorable and successful event.

Nashville is an easily accessible, top global destination with a proven track record of hosting safe and seamless large-scale events like the NFL Draft, CMA Fest and the SEC Championship. Football fans will no doubt enjoy Music City’s world-famous honky-tonks, live music, attractions, and restaurants.

The State of Tennessee’s investment in the construction of the new Nissan Stadium reflects our commitment to hosting the world’s most anticipated sporting event. This thoughtfully designed state-of-the-art stadium, which will boast the closest viewing experience in football, is sure to provide an unrivaled experience to players and fans.

Could Nashville host the Super Bowl? Absolutely, especially after their successful hosting of the NFL draft which set the stage for the event that it has become. This was even mentioned during the owners meetings in 2024, when Goodell mentioned the draft as a reason for possible success.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell thinks a Super Bowl in Nashville “would be very successful.”

At the NFL owners meetings, Goodell also said he thinks the new @Titans stadium is going to be “amazing.”

The NFL hasn’t yet announced the destination for Super Bowl 2029, which comes two seasons after the opening of the new Nissan Stadium. The latest announcement was that Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium will host the 2028 Super Bowl.

Could Nashville be next? It’s possible, but even if it’s not 2029, it is definitely an event they could host in the future.
