The NHL Tonight Crew discusses Team USA's upcoming announcement of their Olympic roster, Adam Fox not being on the team, and more
I'm kind of glad Robertson got left off. As if he needed any motivation to do more, especially against B. Guerrin's Minnesota team. Robertson already has 24 goals and 48 points total, that even with a very slow start out of the gate because of his health. Not sure what the reasoning to put a regressing Matthews or lesser Tkachuck (brother) over him. The Florida Tkachuck hasn't even been playing but I get why they would want him if healthy. Not sure if any of it matters because I can't see USA beating Canada. USA might be better than ever, but Canada's roster is still better. It kind of sucks for Russia's superstar players that they don't get to play.
it seemed like his play got a lot better last year after the four nations. it's a shame that both he and heiskenan got hurt last year and weren't 100 available for the playoffs. Robertson has been great this year and has been a lot more physical and better at puck battling and creating chances than in prior years. he's going to benefit from the rest. I think it's a mistake by Guerin because Robertson is the type of player that will score 4 goals in a game at any point in time. he's not phased by anything. now he's more likely to do it in a playoff game vs. the Wild than he is for team USA. I still think Dallas needs to make a trade to upgrade their defense, and if nothing else to replace Seguin's face-off prowess and scoring.![]()
