TE Maxx Williams likely to start training camp on PUP

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Williams is probably looking at the end of training camp to see where he is.

Well this explains why they drafted a TE. From the sound so it, it looks like Williams could possibly end up on the shelf going into the regular season and may end up being a released injury settlement if his injury doesn't respond and heal to the point where he can play unless they place him on IR and I wonder if they would be allowed to do that if he is on the regular season PUP list.

Williams has a history of ankle and knee injuries.
2016 - knee injury which required surgery to remove cartilage IR for season. Missed 12 games.
2017 - injury to his left ankle missed 5 games
2020 - ankle injury missed 7 games
2021 - torn ACL in Week 5, placed on IR. Missed 12 games.
