Taurasi has Turkish contract voided for doping
By SELCAN HACAOGLU
Associated Press

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) American basketball star Diana Taurasi had her contract terminated by Turkish club Fenerbahce on Thursday after her "B" sample tested positive for doping.

The Istanbul-based club made its decision after the Turkish Basketball Federation announced the results of the doping test on its website. Taurasi faces a ban of up to two years, putting in jeopardy her chances of playing for the United States at the 2012 London Olympics.

The federation has not announced a decision on Taurasi's punishment.

Diana Taurasi's suspension lifted
Associated Press

ANKARA, Turkey -- Turkey's basketball federation lifted American star Diana Taurasi's provisional doping suspension Wednesday after a lab retracted its finding that she tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

The Turkish Basketball Federation said the lab retracted its report after it "evaluated" Taurasi's statements in her defense. The federation did not say whether the lab made a mistake.

Taurasi not only is free to continue playing in the Turkish basketball league, she also is cleared to participate for the United States at the 2012 London Olympics.

Pathetic. These testing agencies (especially foreign ones, no offense but it's true) are 100% obsessed with catching notable American sports starts using banned substances in any sport and they are way too quick to report this garbage...

What happened to sample A and sample B which are supposed to go to different labs? What happened to checking your facts and talking to the person in question before you go on the record with the press in an effort to make you (the testing agency and league they are contracted with) look good, no instead these guys just cant wait to get in front of a camera and smear an athlete so they can be "the ones who GOT that SOB."

We still shouldn't be mad at those people, we should be mad at the baseball players and track and field athletes who actually did use HGH and Steroids and put that doubt in everyones mind. Its so different from when I was a kid, when I was a kid if we saw an athlete doing great things we wondered how hard we would have to work to be like them, now when kids see athletes doing great things they wonder how many injections it would take them to get to that point.

Just sad...:mulli:
